The 2nd edition is being bound in two weeks

THE MISSIONARIES was the first book in the Castalia Library subscription and it sold out nearly as soon as we began shipping them. This is why a lot of subscribers have been asking us to produce a second edition for more than three years now. So, we’re pleased to announce that the binding of the 2nd edition of 700 books is scheduled for July 29th.

In order to prevent the second editions from being confused with the first one, we’ve utilized the same stamps, but with different color leather. The Library edition is being bound in dark gray cowhide while the Libraria is being bound in black goatskin.

The rear of the Library edition is blind-embossed to match the first edition style.

Due to a communications error with the printer, who printed two sets of book blocks, what was intended to be a second edition of 300 turned into a second/third edition of 700. Fortunately, we had sufficient leather to bind all 700 copies, and if there is a book we don’t mind keeping some extra copies around for sale, it is this one.

The dark gray will look fantastic next to the gray-blue of THE PROMETHEAN.
