Signed First Editions
Two special leatherbound editions that will not be subscription books
If you enjoy collecting high-quality leatherbound books, then you won’t want to miss this crowdfunding campaign, as it represents Castalia Library’s first replication of Franklin Library’s famed Signed First Editions. My own leather book collection began with a 1989 Signed First Edition of Franklin Library’s FOUCAULT’S PENDULUM by Umberto Eco, which to this day is displayed on a prominent place on my bookshelf. I have a lot more leather books now, I’ve even got more signed Umberto Eco books now, but this one will always be special to me and not just because it was a gift from Spacebunny.
Notice how the book’s special status is marked on the lower spine, denoted by SIGNED FIRST EDITIONS above THE FRANKLIN LIBRARY. And while we aren’t committing to producing a similar line of these signed first editions, or even Easton’s lesser imitation of signed editions, we will be publishing two very special signed first editions as part of the upcoming HYPERGAMOUSE and SIGMA GAME crowdfund.
SIGMA GAME is a landmark book, being authored by the creator of the Socio-Sexual Hierarchy and originator of the extraordinarily viral term “Sigma male”. It is the authoritative, and literally definitive, work on the subject. In addition to the ebook, paperback, and hardcover editions, two signed first editions will be produced, one to the Castalia History standard, the other to the Libraria Castalia standard. It will not be a part of the regular Castalia Library subscription. Both editions will be signed by the author and their special status will be indicated on the spine.
HYPERGAMOUSE is an Arkhaven comic illustrated by the very talented illustrator Lacey Fairchild and is the most popular comic on Arktoons. Its relation to SIGMA GAME is that the concepts that drive the entertaining storylines are based on the socio-sexual hiearchy that SIGMA GAME defines. In addition to doing a conventional four-panel per page paperback and hardcover, Arkhaven Comics will produce a large, horizontally-oriented coffee table edition with two panels per page on glossy premium color paper. This is the edition that we intend to bind in leather; at present we only plan to produce a single leatherbound version to the Castalia History standard. The signed first edition will be signed by both contributors to the comic.

About four weeka ago I sold my Barn hardbacks because of convergence. I kept my copy of the Pisan Cantos, all the Castalia Books, and the Tolkien. First signed editions of sigma game... Waiting for the Backer kit rewards.
