Castalia Library is very pleased to announce our much-requested, long-awaited line of Christian literature: Castalia Cathedra. Because we wish to make it more affordable for new and existing subscribers alike, and because we do not wish to overwhelm the new bindery’s production capabilities, we will be producing only two Cathedra subscription books per year.
This allows us to keep the price of the monthly subscription down to $20 and the Annual subscription to $249.99. The retail price for non-subscribers will be $179.99, assuming that there are any books from the initial print run left.
The Cathedra series is intended to provide Christian readers with a collection of the best Christian literature of the last 2,025 years, be it Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant, in the most beautiful productions possible.
In keeping with this objective, Castalia is also introducing the Cathedra Letter Edition subscription, which is a very high end, extremely limited edition of 26. These are intended to compete as the ultimate literary collectibles with the letter editions from publishers such as Arion Press and Suntup Press. The Letter Editions will retail for $2,499, although they will be available for a deeply discounted monthly subscription of $200.
The first book in the Cathedra series is THE EVERLASTING MAN by G.K. Chesterton, and the reason it was selected should be readily apparent in this selection from a review by Clarion:
Much has been said in praise of Chesterton's The Everlasting Man in the nine decades since it was first published, but somehow it remains today less famous than it deserves to be, by several orders of magnitude. This book gives a clear and compelling defense of Christianity, on both historical and philosophical grounds, timeless perhaps in its truths but very timely indeed in how and to whom it presents them. Page after boisterous page, Chesterton is funny, eloquent, cheeky, and rigorously logical. Every educated Christian ought to be familiar with The Everlasting Man.
A reader shouldn't embark upon this book with any fear of boredom. Chesterton is a master of the English prose style: Every sentence is a delight to read, every word is carefully set in place, and each paragraph flows powerfully and pleasantly from its beginning to its close. His books are worth reading even if only for the pleasure of their symmetry and clarity. Chesterton's writing, however, has much more to recommend it than mere beauty of form. In my experience, his three most impressive and endearing intellectual attributes are: his common sense, his erudition, and his piety. Each is spectacularly on display in The Everlasting Man.
Although we are presently behind on the Library production due to some delays in the completion of the bindery, several of the books are already complete and ready for the US and European binderies, and we anticipate being completely caught up with both Library and History before the first Cathedra book is ready for production in July, 2025. We will provide updates on those books here, complete with images, over the next two weeks.

Well done. Happy New Year to Castalia. May God bless the work.
C.S. Lewis said The Everlasting Man was the book that baptized his intellect. Have read it several times, I can’t wait to get a beautiful leather bound edition.
